vintage velvet noir
Outstanding in stature. Completely breathtaking in both kindness and character, too. Meet Tessa Voccola. I have the wonderful privilege of not only showcasing her all month long with this new vintage series, but I also just so happen to have the honor of calling her fellow writer & friend.
Tessa is such a powerful source of good vesseled in just 18 years of age. There's an old soul in this young lady and I couldn't adore it any more than I already do. Back in January, she and I began tossing around ideas for a fashion series that centered around frugality, but that concentrated on the art of old. I already knew of what I wanted to wear for this new site's grand opening and I had just found this garment of my Mom's that had pressed in against my heart. The idea of a vintage celebration seemed streamline with these pieces bringing an old world flare to my new online look. Hence, Vintage Voccola was born!
On this particular day of capturing, it was crisp and quite, quite cold. Icicles clinging to a church steeple just about summed it up.
And yet, Tessa beamed beautiful. Radiant even. I love how the wintery, white snow bounced off her black velvet swirls.
I enjoyed her choice in shoes too. So very different and unexpected when worn with a black velvet formal. This dress is classic. Timeless even. Modest & so very feminine. I so enjoyed this outward expression of textures on Tessa. This particular look really leaves room for her inner beauty to shine. No overbearing sequins or massive slits up the side to deter from the natural light of this young woman.
