The $3.00 Salute
12 quarters. I am wearing twelve George Washington circular discs from head-to-toe. Spelunk underneath your couch cushions or in the floor board of your vehicle and I.am.there.people. Not only am I there, but I'm there in name brand. To this, I say God Bless America.
I am there, and I am easily distracted. SQUIRREL! That would be the equivalent to wind catching the ruffled hem of my {read'em & weep} SEERSUCKER J.CREW navy & white swiss dot sundress and me losing all focus of paying attention to the camera. Thank you, 4 quarters.
And let's just talk about the short sleeved cardigan, shall we? To some people, the short sleeved cardigan is of moot fashion existence. Stop.right.there. I cannot stand for such nonsensical talk. The short sleeved cardie is the party that rocks color without the added hoopla of all-up-in-my-way sleeves. You can find super great details in the short sleeved versions, too. Killer cute buttons {check the pewter pearlized buttons on this Lerner New York one, would ya}, gathered punchy sleeves {see above once more}, or even a fun bow, intricate stitching or a great cut for a contouring look. {Check this coral Boden one I scored a couple years ago at Goodwill.} Yes, I happen to be a cardie fan. And I might just be the first unofficial, unpaid short sleeved cardigan spokesmodel in this great nation. Another 4 quarters down. Much obliged, President Washington.
Shoes. These GAP brand leopard wedge peep-toe with an oversized bow atop has now become my basic go-to neutral shoe. And to this I say, Hallelujah. 4 quarters more, but of course. Goodwill don't mess, peeps. Each of the already eight hundred twelvety-nine times I have worn these wedges, the same thought crosses my mind, "What lunatic woman discarded these objects of utterly fantastic outfit completion?" Sometimes I want to send her flowers with a card attached that says, "Thank you for completing me."
There you have it. I just used up all your quarters and covered all myself. Now, it's your turn. George Washington in shiny disc form can do wonders for your wardrobe. Goodwill can too. Hold the drive-thru extra value meal, and have yourself an outfit instead. Ahh, "America the Beautiful". You can say that again.
