Love lies dormant in us. Lodged & locked it waits. On time & person. The soul searches for the heart best fit for falling into and for holding tight. Seeking devoutly around life's corners and along the rim of years, love abides to no timeline. It moves tenderly and with huge dollops of hope in pursuit of the one day called forever.
And forever has been found for my best friend. In love's best way and with God's holy rhythm, her soul has that very heart to fall into and the one to hold tight. On May 17th, their hands will join through the greatest love of all and become Mr. and Mrs. Harold Burke.
This past Saturday we had the opportunity to celebrate this upcoming union. The day was glorious. Bright blue skies stretched their arms out for all to see. Cotton ball fluffy clouds came in their best party dress for a cocktail or two. The sunshine poured out a happy light on this special time for my best friend and her beau. Joy filled, friends & family gathered to dote on this couple whose love lives much like those bright blue skies stretched out. Unlocked. Dormancy is no more.
I am inspired by the story of my Angie meeting her Harold. Her journey to his arms has been one longer than anticipated. It's had twists and setbacks. Turns & detours too. Angela June has watched on and stood beside best friends-turned-brides wearing an array of bridesmaid hues. Her support with each ceremony was full of encouragement and happy for the bride and groom. And yet, lodged & longing, her love remained locked.
Her story is one written in holy ink if you ask me. For it's when she gave up the world's notions on when together should be and decided to dig deeper into the heart of herself that her life became truly ready for sharing. It's a series of events that I was honored to watch her experience. The letting go. The hard work of holding onto herself while reaching up for Him. I am proud of this girl.
She centered herself not on the what-ifs. No longer did she hold hurt inside where hope should be. She grew. Up. Through. Forward. She began the journey of Angela June in her best light with no strings attached. She cleaned out the cluttered corners and unsure spaces in her heart. Little did she know how that room would be used. Holy ink I tell you.
So with puffy party dress clouds and over zealous skies of blue, I watched my girl. Celebrate. Smile. Unwrap & enjoy. Her love has been handed over to a man who has all kinds of forever on his mind. God couldn't have assembled a better team than {bowman burke}. Harold is a towering handsome man full of kindness. He is a protector and a spoiler too. He loves that Angela June something fierce.
My gift to these two love nuggets was one from my hands. I custom designed a k.Mac Nantuckett using all my favorite prints. I didn't want it to coordinate; I wanted it to be very much like life. A collection of beautiful and memories all stitched together. Bright. Subtle. Reflective.
Old friends found each other on this special day marked happy for Angie & Harold too. Three-fourths of our girly crew were present with smiles for the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. We know Kellie was there with us in her South Carolina spirit.
Long time fabulous friend, Jennifer, co-hosted with Angie's mom, Clarinda, the engagement party for the happy couple back in February. On this day, she was all smiles for her sweet Angie girl.
And it is here I give your the real rockstars of this celebration. Angie's sister, Heather, and great friend, Brooke, made this shower the sweet beautiful success it was. From food to decorations, these girls were trump tight. It was such a treat to host this shower with such stellar party planners.
